Summary: |
Meet Louise, a budding magician. The students at the Tristein Academy call her "Zero Louise", due to her current record of zero successes with magic. In fact, her magic tends to go spectacularly wrong. Now, as an important test of her aptitude for magic, she must summon a familiar to be her servant. At this critical moment, she summons up all her magic and wishes for a familiar that is "devoted, beautiful and powerful", and gets... Hiraga Saito, an ordinary Japanese boy. It's difficult to say who is more surprised and dismayed, but the rules don't allow for second attempts. Louise is stuck with her strange familiar, and he with her. |

The story was interesting and sometimes random but that is what makes it interesting. There are plenty of side stories that impacts you and it is so well thought and oriented in a way that you can kind of get emotional about it. Twists and turns within the story just throws you around and just when you think are back on track, you are thrown in another direction. Seriously though, out of all the anime series that I have seen, this is one of just a few that actually riled me up. All the drama and comedy complement each other, which makes it interesting.
The dialogue is great. It is even more so when the characters experience something that affects them emotionally. But that is not what makes the dialogue so great, it is the comedy part of the show that makes it so great.
The animation is something in itself. It is especially something when it comes to a fight scene. If anything, it is very fantasy-like and artistic.
The entertainment from this show comes from one trait it holds, the comedy. Don't get me wrong, I liked the other genre traits of the show like the drama, adventure, fantasy, etc. But compared to the comedy, it is just in a league of its own. The show was so hilarious that I was crying because it made me laugh so hard and loud. I would watch one scene several times before finishing the episode. As you watch the series it gets better and better each time you watch it. Of course, the drama also makes it entertaining. Every now and then, there is a sense of seriousness that comes from some dire situation or traumatic event in the show. Once this happens, it just grabs hold of you and that's where some would probably become emotional about it. Then when you least expect it, you rolling on the floor laughing so hard that it hurts. I would recommend it if you like drama and humor mixed together and a plot that throws you around and leaves you wondering.
