the story start off quite slow, but as u get passed the first few ep, the adventure begins. what i can say about this anime is that it NEVER fails to bore me. i've watched this series for like 5 times on Animax from start to end, and i'd still eager to sit in front of the tV just to make sure that i'd get to watch it. Yusuke's character left me with great impact that up until today, i couldn't find another that is even close to the values that he holds.

he's a delinquent, sometimes a pervert ( i mean all boys are.. o.O) but only with Keiko.
he's childish because he didn't perform well in school.
he's a son of most-of-the-time-drunken-mother,
he's wicked and always outwit the enemies though there are times when it was just sheer luck.
he's a gentlemen that despite his stupidity and childish act, has a cool side that always put others before himself.
he has not much care about what people did in the past or what they might do in the future.
he's loyal, and that's what friends are.

arr.. i'm getting tired of writing all his good points when i have actually write nothing about the plot.

but guys, this is definitely a-must-watch anime for all season. u might get a little disappointed with the animation but hey, it was done 20 years ago!
as for the plot and dialogue, i assure u that u'll really enjoy the series!

(anyway, i kind of like the animation the way it is because that what makes the anime less gay that most of the anime nowadays. ;P )

Yu Yu Hakusho is without a doubt one of the best fighting anime's I've ever watched. It has everything needed to make a good story: action, drama, and a little comedy spashed here and there. This anime has everything that Bleach and Naruto lack which is why I stopped watching Bleach around episode 50 and Naruto long before Shippuden ever aired. What makes Yu Yu Hakusho an anime worth watching is that it isn't about fighting, the fighting is merely a means to show the deeper story elements. The emotional dialogue, music, and story had me laughing hysterically at times and choking back tears at others. I've never seen another fighting anime that could make me get emotional. Most of them are just a pointless waist of time with no substance and only violence.

My only gripe with Yu Yu Hakusho is that toward some of the later episodes the animators used either different artists or a different art studio that had substandard animation. There were only a few episodes that had this poor animation, however. It just appears like the animators had no choice but to contract a different company for a few episodes and then went back to the original with much better quality. (show less)

conclusion: well worth the time for a long anime (> 99 eps). action, a decent storyline, varied characters, and no fillers (big plus). almost nothing changed from the manga either. yes, the graphics are bad for newer standards, but the story alone kept me sitting through well enough. not my personal fav, but a pretty good one.

I'm sure you guys have all seen this anime on the Most Popular list for ages now, bt are reluctant to watch it cause it was made before you were even born. (I hope noone on this site are old otakus dis just sad ;0) Well i gave it a try, and how do i put it, dis nt that bad. I mean the story isn't amazing or anything and the fight scenes are really rigid, but old stories have this sense of deepness if you know what i mean. The main character uses moves like Luffy+Goku put together (he says shotgun, but beams come out lol). Dis ain't that bad, and it actually has a point at the end of the day. (show less)
