Wolverine Travels to Japan to reclaim the love that was stolen away from. Cliché and very much something that Marvel would do.
I'm having trouble putting my thoughts about the show into words, as my opinion isn't one of dislike, or enjoyment. I found the show to be ... average. Average is actually the best way to describe the show. An overused cliché storyline that is used as the sole premise to bring a well known character to a certain location in the world, thus giving the animation studio a reason for creating the show. The plot really only exists in about half of the episodes, the rest just seems to be there to pad out the show and make it longer.
The dialogue is average at best. Something about the voice actors portraying the characters grates against my ears. Not in an offensive way, a way that puts me off from watching initially. However, it neither is a manner that makes me want to continue. It is, again, average.
The animation can also be described as average. Some parts are fluid movements and smooth transitions, the rest are cheap, single limb movements with subtract from the quality. Not that such a style is bad, but when it is obvious and tacky, it really does make the rest of the animation suffer.
As for the entertainment, and here is the clincher, Wolverine can be entertaining. The battles are both interesting, and varied enough for the first few episodes. The side characters add a touch of variation to the battles, whereas wolverine just tends to "go there, slash that, get hit, make a snappy comment, slash it some more" which gets very tiresome, very quickly. By the the final credits had started rolling, I had lost my connection the characters, and no longer cared about their situation which is never a good sign for any story
In conclusion, an average attempt at a story which is let down even further by average voice acting and average animation. The show is entertaining to a degree, but quickly becomes boring and repetitive. Watch the show if your bored and looking for a fight scene or two, but otherwise you're not missing much.
