Plenty of Gore & Blood: Umineko Fairly Entertaining

Not for the faint-hearted (like me, who couldn't get past the 22nd episode anymore...) this is one anime that's completely filled with blood, gory stuff, murder/assassinations, and etc. etc. The storyline is somewhat lacking in the way that things are much too repetitive, but somehow, more interesting events throughout the series keeps the audience fairly captured. The artwork shows how much gore is mastered, and it certainly was, despite the somewhat plain, and uncreative plot. The series poccesses pretty good music at that, and the opening (sung by the awesome Akiko Shikata) really sets the creepy mood.

The anime starts out quite cheerfully, though once you're in there (the next few episodes) there's really no escaping the awfully mysterious and scary mood that remains until the end. The characters are well developed. A main part of this anime is also the mystery. Somehow, the mystery did not appeal to me to be quite smart or entertaining. It lacks creative and intelligent turns and twists.

Overall, it was a pretty average anime, but the scariness is seriously one of the strong points of this anime (considered to be another version/copy? of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) so if you like that type of stuff, go for it.
