Summary: |
Ken Kaneki is a bookworm college student who meets a girl names Rize at a cafe he frequents. They're the same age and have the same interests, so they quickly become close. Little does Kaneki know that Rize is a ghoul - a kind of monster that lives by hunting and devouring human flesh. When part of her special organ - "the red child" - is transplanted into Kaneki, he becomes a ghoul himself, trapped in a warped world where humans are not the top of the food chain. |

When I watched the first I thought this will be just another dark fantasy horrod anime about vampires. So, in the end I was wrong with Tokyo Ghoul, it is more than that. It's not that great either. Story is unfinished, missing a lot of it, characters are poorly developed (like main antagonist/protogonist Amon) and some of them we meet et the end (Banjou, Suzuya Juuzou, Kirishima Ayato). I have the immpresion how the basic idea of the story was to show arise of the leading character Kaneki - he overpassed his philosophy (conditioned by the mother) ( read more)

The last episode was really intense, action with bloody, gore scenes was superb, but than it seems there is a big hole, we have not seen what is happend with other characters, story looks uncomplete! Animation of ambient and figts was beautifu, but I don't like how characters were designed. Tokyo Ghoul despite all the flaws remains my favourite anime serise about vampires although it is not about these supernatural creatures! :) ( show less)

Second Episode.
The first episode hooked me, but It started to get dull after the second episode. I would be okay with a male character trying to protect a female character or even the other way a round. But not a male character trying to protect another male character. What made that scene particularly bad "for me" was it seems like he has sort of yaoi feelings for the guy. Its kind of like you can spot a anime that kind of yuri-ish. I think Akame ga Kill was yuri-shi and that why I fell of of that. Its like this anime is going in that direction. ( read more)

This anime "COULD" end up being to yaoi-ish. I'll give it another episode and see how that goes before I drop it. ( show less)
