Summary: |
Keima Katsuragi is an avid galge gamer known at his school as "Otamega" (a derogatory term combining the words Otaku and Megane) and on the internet a "The Capturing God." One day he receives an e-mail offering him a contract to "capture" girls. He accepts thinking it's a challenge and a demon from Hell named Elsee appears. She asks for his help in capturing runaway spirits that are hiding in "real" girls. He refuses stating he only like the girls from the game and she tells him that if he refuses then both of their heads will be cut off. |

By repetitive I mean each arch follows the same steps. The main characters also have some catch phrases wich I didn't really like. There were some meaningless episodes about galge (especially the last one) but enough with the negative stuff. Overall "The World Only God Knows" was enjoyable.
The story is pretty good because it tries to break the stereotypes set in other series and galge. The archs(/girls) are diverse so I'm sure everyone has a different opinion on wich were better. Personally I wouldn't have mind if they made each 'conquest' a bit longer and took more time to introduce the characters and deepen the relationship. Some of the endings seemed a bit rushed and unrealistic. I hope they fix this now that there's a second season.
The conversations can be really funny. Apart from the catch phrases, no complaints.
The animation is as expected. I kind of liked the intro, music and animation. The outro wasn't bad either.
Although it has it's flaws and I wouldn't rank it amongst the best I've seen, I would still recommend it eventually.
