Summary: |
To the south of Japan, there lies a lush green island called Southern Cross Isle. One night, a boy by the name of Takuto Tsunashi washes up on the shore of the island alone. Having swum from the mainland alone and without any possessions, this boy enrolls in the senior high level in the school on the island - Southern Cross High School.
With his bright and positive personality, he starts to mix with various students in the school and builds relationships with many of them, including Wako Agemaki and Sugata Shindou. But this school hides a deep secret. There are sleeping giants hidden under the ground called "Cybuddies".
There are about 20 of these giants, and they are just some of the various secrets kept by everyone on the island: The secret movements of the mysterious organization known as "Kirahoshi Juujidan". The songs of the shrine maidens. And even Takuto himself will soon come to embrace a great secret...
This island in the southern territories surrounded by the blue sea and the blue skies is the stage where the "Eulogy of Youth" filled with love, dreams and friendships, will begin. |

Stardriver started out interesting and full of intrigue, unfortunately, as the story goes on it's plague with confusing plotlines and lack of characterization. Here we have the main hero, Takuto, who transforms into a "Galactic Pretty Boy" as he pilots the Cybody Tauburn along with his friends Wako & Sugata. I like the interaction between these characters, the love-triangle played out quite well and though we don't see any intense rivalry between the two boys but both display characteristics that made the Wako had a hard time choosing between ( read more)
Stardriver started out interesting and full of intrigue, unfortunately, as the story goes on it's plague with confusing plotlines and lack of characterization. Here we have the main hero, Takuto, who transforms into a "Galactic Pretty Boy" as he pilots the Cybody Tauburn along with his friends Wako & Sugata. I like the interaction between these characters, the love-triangle played out quite well and though we don't see any intense rivalry between the two boys but both display characteristics that made the Wako had a hard time choosing between them. The enemy Glittering Crux, started out strong as well, with their secret base and bizzare and weird members most of them students from the same school the main characters are attending. The mechas are done well and the idea of battling in Zero Time is surreal. The bad part is that it lacks a solid background that made the story and characters sloppy as the story progresses. Takuto's origin as never truly explained, though we have bit of flashback of how he got his mark but there was no hint that he ever trained to be a driver which is quite confusing since he manage to pilot TauBurn perfectly on this first try and was able to beat all of the other pilots who have been using their Cybodies longer than he does. Glittering Crux is also a bit of a contradiction, first i really don't know if they are really enemies or not since most of the members are actually Takuto's classmates at school or acquaintances and the funny part is there were hints during their battles that Takuto has some hints who the pilot was but after the battle no confrontation was ever done to confirm this. For someone who is an excellent fighter you might think that at least he knows his enemies by his actions giving him at least an idea who his enemy actually is! Either Takuto is naive or just stupid since the only time he actually recognize the member is when their masks were destroyed in the final battle. The fights are also half-baked and most of the time Takuto manage to win without even a single scratch and mostly with just a single strike the only time the fight actually was interesting was in the ending. The only thing that i can definitely enjoyed in this anime is when they were just doing their normal school life. ( show less)

Ok, the animation, drawing and colors are amazing...
But the rest is not that good...
However, it is an Anime for younger people, specially girls.
So I would recommend that you give it a shot if you are.
Pd: There is some partial nudity, Barbie style (You can see the flesh but no details)
