In the outside world, the three beautiful Yagami sisters and Sasami\'s brother are in the middle of relationships worthy of a romantic comedy. |

This anime is incredibly bizarre. The plot summary you see on this page, does really not do it justice. It is quite impossible to describe the plot, since there is so much going on in every episode. But its not impossible to understand, it just takes a few episodes before you get used to it. But even then, it´s still very strange, and I love it, for it :) The colouring, and the camera angles and just all the weird concepts it throws at you is mind boggling. In just the first episode for example, the entire world literally turns into chocolate. ( read more)
This anime is incredibly bizarre. The plot summary you see on this page, does really not do it justice. It is quite impossible to describe the plot, since there is so much going on in every episode. But even then, it´s still very strange, and I love it, for it :) The colouring, and the camera angles and just all the weird concepts it throws at you is mind boggling. In just the first episode for example, the entire world literally turns into chocolate. Yes, you read that right people. But that´s not even the strangest part, oh no! That´s just the tip of the iceberg. Though its not completely fair to call the show random either. Because there is a structure, you just don´t grasp it until around episode 3 or 4. But that´s fine. Sometimes the plot needs more than the first episode to establish itself. The anime goes to some very strange places, but I was always along for the ride. It didn´t always explicitly explain everything, but I liked that subtlety, made you have to guess a little, get to the conclusion yourself, or even create your own theories, where there weren´t always a clear cut answer. Now this review might seem a bit all over the place, but that´s because the show is too! :) And I know it might not be everyones cup of tea, but if it sounds intresting to you, I think you should definitely check it out. You won´t regret it. Also, if you´re hesitant because of the relationship between the sister and her brother, don´t be. It´s mostly just over the top, and played for laughs. Also, it might annoy some of you that you never get to see the brothers face throughout the entire show, for some unexplained reason. Just another little charming bizarre detail :)
PS! To you who compared this to Arakawa under the bridge: I can see where you´re coming from, but Arakawa is freaking normal compared to THIS! XD ( show less)

This anime is random, but after watching it up to episode 3, it has decent storyline. At first glance I thought this is slice-of-life anime centering hikikomori girl but it actually full of supernatural, a robot and godly power. As expected from studio Shaft, this anime incorporate dark comedy with a colorful cast of characters. I recommend this anime to you if you like anime like Arakawa under the bridge.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai sounds like a bland and generic anime, but then you find out that it also includes gods, aliens and the whole world being turned into chocolate... This is a very zany series with a lovely soft art style. I would recommend this anime to you if you enjoyed: Bakemonogatari (Same studio and director), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Again, same studio and director) or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Similar style of comedy/ randomness).
