Summary:
Kenshin Himura was an assassin for the Imperial side during the war that ended the Shogunate and installed the Meiji government. After killing countless people, he made a vow to never kill again. Ten years later, he finds a home at a failing dojo, only to be caught up in a string of murders related to an opium ring. His commitment to never taking a life is put to the test as the people heβs come to care about are threatened by figures from his past.
It's been forever and I'm too tired to go through all the character names and lists so forgive my lacking in that area. Basically for a quick read through and spoilers of the movie.
Everything in a nut shell aside from character introductions like Kaoru, that little kid that trains with her *Yama mahoji or something* This movie is based around the first arc of the anime where the *female doctor* makes Opium for the prick that hires that group of Samurai/Ninja (who are killed by a Machine Gun)as bodyguards that Kenshin fights.
They have other elements and characters from the beginning of the anime and all in all for a live action is wasn't to bad. I wish they would of spent more effort into special effects for Kenshins fight scenes. It feels under budget, but makes up in the historical essence of Japanese . The pace/cast of the characters and overall scenery of the movie is good. So with that said 4/5. Really wish they could find the means to really put in a good solid overall astounding adaption to an anime, like Neon Genesis :D
