Summary: |
One day, Ikuto has a fight with his father and as a result runs away from home in the heat of the moment. Everything was going well until he boarded a ship, but then he carelessly fell overboard. After encountering the most serious raging storm in a hundred years, and spending many days adrift, he arrives here, at "Airantou". However, this island is a little weird...because, this Airantou is an island comprising solely of girls. An (extremely enviable) destiny awaits Ikuto. |

I realize the nose-bleed is sort of the universal anime indication that a guy has just had a massive reaction to seeing the female body but surely no one could lose this much blood and live! The protagonist, Ikuto, has to lose about 1-2 gallons of blood each episode! haha.
I've had Nagasarete Airantou on my watchlist now for some time and finally got around to viewing the series. From a purely entertainment standpoint it did not disappoint! Every episode is just chock-full of nose-bleed induced comedy and truly funny situations. I really ( read more)

Granted, this anime falls into the 'semi-harem' category so expect to see lots of girls fighting over the same guy. I say 'semi-harem' because from a romance perspective there's really not much to see here folks. Yes, Ikuto is a guy, but throughout most of the series he's more interested in getting off this crazy island than he is in forming a relationship with any of the female inhabitants. It did pick up a little toward the end but don't expect to watch this for the romance or you may be disappointed.
Technically, the animation is pretty standard fair and uses very bright colours, nothing too standoutish. The BGM was very nice and the OP and ED were catchy although not 'must-haves' for my anime song collection.
Overall, Nagasarete Airantou is a fun-filled island romp with a nose-bleeding protagonist who must come to terms with what is really important in life. Oh, and don't tell him anything is 'absolutely impossible'!! Nagasarete Airantou is recommended viewing! ( show less)

Firstly story,It does not really have a really deep plot or anything very intense which put you on the edge of your chair but,it fits the anime well because this kind of anime will be talking about how the main protagonist's everyday life.Which is why it give you a relaxing feeling about this anime. There are certain values to talk about so do not dismiss it as a simple comedy anime without much depth.
Secondly dialogue,Its dialogue is pretty nicely done, those funny dialogue are nicely done which give you sparks of fun here and there.

Thirdly Animation, yes i know, the animation looks kinda childish like, and those animals and plants are...... you know really suitable for children. But,i felt that it is ok since it kinda fits the anime.Because the island is very Magical so if you give a serious and real kind of drawing then it would not fits.
Lastly entertainment,Most of the joke are moderately done, some are really funny while some do not hit me,but each episode should be entertaining generally. Each characters are quite unique which keeps the whole anime nice and fresh, one last thing, the joke and humors are mostly not ecchi or pervert so do not expect much.
In conclusion,It is a relaxing and cute kind of anime,it serves as a good break from those not original anime or really intense/roller-coaster emotions kind of anime. If you are looking for a break or finding a anime with enough plot and values pair up with good amount of entertainment, look no further, try this anime and it should do the trick. The biggest virtue of 'Nagasarete Airantou' is probably that after a while it really draws you in. I especially noticed this when I had just finished the series. I suddenly felt very sad and wanted to continue watching the adventures of the main characters.
The story is basically the king of all harem settings, one guy on an island full of girls, but don't let this put you off. Unlike most harem anime the main character doesn't really form one. He indirectly chooses one girl which makes the ending really touching.

Another good property of the story is how it uses fantasy elements but because of the mysteriousness of the island it kind of makes sense.
The dialogue can be quite funny from time to time. There are allot of (maybe stereotypical) characters which makes for allot of funny combinations and situations.
The art was what made me watch this series. It really resembles 'Seto no hanayome', a hilarious anime, and I had hoped that the resemblence wouldn't end there. Unfortunatly besides a few things, they don't have that much in common and Airantou isn't as good as Seto. Still, I like the animation style.
'Nagasarete Airantou' has some funny moments, some touching moments and some hilarious characters. It's biggest forte is that you feel like you're a part of the big cast and want to experience some adventures with them. ( show less)

While the story is a bit on the seen it category (a guy drifts off to an island which is full of girls) this anime is underrated. t has everything a true anime fan likes:comedy, romace, and a bit of an ecchi flare and even some times fights (which mostly turn out oddly). The dialogues are very good too. The entertainment is top of the key (I highly recomend the scenes with Machi in them) and the animation is a bit goofy at some times but it fits the anime perfectly.
Overal I recoment it to almost anyone who wants a barrel of laughs spiced up with ( read more)
