So I like baseball animes generally. I've watched + enjoyed Ookiku furikabutte, ace of diamond and a couple of others. This was the best reviewed of all them and it started out pretty well. However, this quickly became really boring. The story wasn't interesting and the characters were especially bad. The main character is really arrogant and too good at everything. While this could b ok he doesn't have any likeable points to balance him out. I found the other characters boring and lacking in depth. I felt they were very poorly developed. The strengths I find in sports animes, generally, is in the tense situations they create in games and the characters. I found both in this show lacking. All in all, considering how well reviewed it was, I was disappointed. If you're interested in baseball animes I advise you try one of the ones I already mentioned or Cross Game or One Outs. They're all much better and much more enjoyable. (show less)

We all love anime and we REALLY don't care if you like Naruto better than One Piece or Bleach or whatever!!! If you're just here to watch Naruto and trash all the other anime series (if you don't like them to begin with...don't watch them and don't give shitty reviews) then just go to a Naruto-Fan-Site - I BET THERE ARE SOME!!!

I really enjoy watching Naruto, but you just make it unlikeable!! You're not helpful at all and because of you - there are more and more people consider NOT watching Naruto! AND THAT WOULD BE A SHAME!!!

Don't take EVERYTHING personal...there are some reviews I don't agree with...so I just ignore them or vote: NOT HELPFUL!!!! And give my own review of the animes I like or dislike....IN A NEUTRAL WAY!!! Try it sometimes...maybe you'll get more points!

Love the anime...I REALLY enjoy watching this one...Not like all the other animes where the hero always wins and has no problems...this one actually shows how difficult it can be to try to be the best! The characters are coming in all different shapes and they evolve throughout the series. If you enjoy watching sports-animes then you might REALLY enjoy this one! Let me preface this review by saying that I love this series, and it easily holds its place as one of the top sports anime series of all time. That being said, I can't for the life of me understand how all of the other reviewers here gave this series an excellent rating for all of the categories. The quality of animation is good and improves as the series progresses, however, it is by no means anything amazing. The story line of the overall series and the various subplots have been predictable from the beginning, however, no more so predictable then any other long running sports anime series. Despite my love for watching this series, it has it's obvious flaws. The purpose of my review is not to dissuade anyone from watching this anime, only to express my concerns with the other perfect reviews. If you are a fan of baseball, the sports anime genre or just feel like getting into a good show without expecting too much (and have enough free time to watch 150+ episodes) then you will surely love this series. However, if you are looking for an anime that will blow you away with its witty dialogue, a unique story line and suspenseful plot twists then you will likely be dissappointed with this series. this is 1 of the best anime series i have ever seen and i have seen alot.
the story is about goro who love to play baseball and the series is covering him since he was a little boy and after he grows up.
the animation is fantastic and the story is brilliant.
at the begining of the series there is a major event happenning that just leave u speechless the tense is aswom,u wont be able to stop after watching the first episods.the way he develope his skills of basball and the spirit to never give up ,making him pushing himself beyond his limits.
this is 1 serie every anime lover should watch either u love action super power comedy thrill or if u a boy or a girl.
