I never expected that I’d enjoy watching “Kimi to Boku” as much as I did. After all, the drawing animation style seems quite laid-back that it gave me the impression there would be times where in I’d feel somewhat sleepy watching it. Don’t get me wrong though, I am not criticizing the animation style. In fact, I do like it. It’s just that when something is quite laid-back, I have this tendency to get relaxed and then just doze-off at some point. Fortunately, though it is indeed a light watch, it is not something that made me doze-off. ( read more)

It’s just that when something is quite laid-back, I have this tendency to get relaxed and then just doze-off at some point. Fortunately, though it is indeed a light watch, it is not something that made me doze-off. In fact, every moment of it was full of feels for me—funny, entertaining, amusing and even heart-warming. It makes one nostalgic with all their fun and youthful days back in school and spending time with your treasured friends. It is simple but true. That’s why even if I am a girl, I can relate to some of the things that happened to the group. Even the opening and ending songs are great. This is indeed one of my greatest anime watches for this year and I am very much looking forward to watching season 2. ( show less)

Maybe this just some typycal high school life anime, yet, there're something that makes this different than other. All the character have their own characteristic, so different, yet it's fitting each other. The story flows in good direction too. I recommended this anime, really :D

An anime of an ordinary day in the high school of Japan. It has the art style similar to Usagi Drop and a calm n easy going story. Nothing gay just shows friendship amongst a group of friends.

I'm super glad i gave this one a try. I initially thought this would be yet another cliched, average, unsatisfying, plotless watch. However, it is absolutely none of the just mentioned.
As i am currently in the last year of my high school years it indeed is getting tough. I find it hard to balance fun, family and school and constantly find myself depressed and sad. I find myself losing interest in most things i used to love and cherish - it is all becoming so, so hopeless.
Kimi To Boku however allowed me to see a brighter, carefree school ( read more)

As i am currently in the last year of my high school years it indeed is getting tough. I find it hard to balance fun, family and school and constantly find myself depressed and sad. I find myself losing interest in most things i used to love and cherish - it is all becoming so, so hopeless.
Kimi To Boku however allowed me to see a brighter, carefree school life and family life as well as daily interactions and occurrances. It showed me that if for one second i was able to briefly just forget about everything and let go, look forward positively and thank my friends and family for small things - i find hope again. This anime shows a true side of friendship, it shows me what i long for most. I have always wished to be among a close-nit group of friends and just be myself. It shows a side of Japanese life that i absolutely love.
The animation, dialogue and music flows very nicely and fits extremely well with the story. It is a light hearted, very funny and refreshing watch. I deeply recommend for all who are currently still in the process of going through school and even those who have long finished but still look back to those good school years. The Japanese culture and schooling portrayed is amazing, it allows us to reflect upon our own schooling and draw upon the similarities that may make us feel a bit better. That is is not only just you going through these tough times. Kimi To Boku reminds us that many others are going through the same process, that family and friends are actually always there to help you in one way or another and maybe, just maybe hope is right next to you waiting for you to open your eyes. So throw away your insecurities and believe in yourself to succeed. Watch this anime to gain motivation once again!
Enjoy. ( show less)

A slice-of-life/growing up series about 5 boys in high school, with lots of flashback stories covering all the main characters (and some of the side ones as well) in a sweet and emotive way. The storyline isn't "exciting" - no fights or power-ups or anything like that, just friendships and how things can affect the bond between people as they grow older.
I think it is a really beautiful series and have just read all the manga to the series after starting the anime.
