I tried watching this anime and got through the first season. I can see the appeal in this anime, but I guess I was not into it. However, i do recommend other people to watch this just because I saw really crappy anime before. Hitman Reborn IS entertaining and there is a good character development, so try watching the few first episodes to see if you like it or not.

frankly speaking i wouldnt say and list KHR as one of favorite anime. the story was okay and entertaining. but it was cliche and all, a typical shonen i'd supposed. the first 30 episodes was effing god so boring so i pretty much fast forward. but then it gets all good and nice. and the animation itself gets better.
but there are few things that i figure this anime lacks:
1) its typical and cliche
2) it lacks intelligence, tactical fight/action unlike the ones you could get in naruto, basically the fight was all about your strength, and capability ( read more)

but there are few things that i figure this anime lacks:
1) its typical and cliche
2) it lacks intelligence, tactical fight/action unlike the ones you could get in naruto, basically the fight was all about your strength, and capability to overcome your weakness with strong will and hidden power.
3) the storyline was kinda messed up, how they narrates the story, from one arc to another arc, there are no continuity in it.
4) it doesnt have too much value and lack emotions too. the sense of friendship, family bond, love was weak. all they have is how tsuna would want to protect kyoko when truthfully she plays almost no importance in the series. its completely different from fmab, and naruto.
5) the dialogue at time kills it. and voice actors and actresses too. eg tsuna, kyoko, haru.
6) some of the main characters doesnt have that much of an importance and shallow.
7) there are more but let's not kill the fun.
but here's the pros:
1) its entertaining and fun. i wouldnt say it really funny, but despite the messed up storyline, they're still fun and the action was worth the watch.
2) how the character evolve.
3) some of the characters were awesome. i especially like kyoya, i think he has the most aura and presence despite not appearing as much as the other guardian.
4) the ideas of the anime can be pretty much crazy at times.
5) nice action.
if you're in for mindless fun, go ahead. its entertaining. but if you want something in depth as in fmab, naruto, then KHR is not the answer. the series gets better along the way as well as the animation, though. have fun watching. ( show less)

-- Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (TV) -- The Home Tutor Hitman:REBORN! -- REBORN! --
This is the ENG SUB of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and I believe the subs to be of good quality, at least in the 'khr' run that I watched.
The ENTERTAINMENT that KHR delivers is top notch good clean fun, except for a little blood, and the use of the inappropriate word 'fool', a word which we shouldn't use to describe others.
The STORY is excellent or close to it, at least for me. This story follows Tsuna, a very socially inept middle school kid, through becoming a 'BOSS', ( read more)

The STORY is excellent or close to it, at least for me. This story follows Tsuna, a very socially inept middle school kid, through becoming a 'BOSS', which of course, leads to all kinds mischief, hi-jinx and straight Shounen style fights, although they are toned down. 'This was meant for a perspective audience of around 10-13, or so it seems to me.'
The DIALOGUE is, I am afraid to say, where KHR fails to come through. I consider dialogue to be the written words of a character though the end product of that character, and while most characters didn't bother me the two lead roles are a bit to high pitched for me in the original JAP and the later ENG versions both, not to mention that, I am sorry to say again, just what is written, for the voice actor playing Tsuna particularly, to say sounds just utterly whiny and pathetic, even for a 10yr old, especially a kid possibly even in the 13-15yr range, to say.
The Animation of it is very what you see is what you get. Look at the picture and see if this show is right for you, decide, then watch Ep.1 and see if you were right. 'I thought I'd like it and I did, see what I'm saying.' I would say its strong for how it is drawn. From beginning on, KHR has had a childish air to it. That said, again I have to point out that, a childish air does seem to work for KHR, and may even endure it to you.
Give this one a shot. ( show less)

this series isn't new so the animation isn't the best but once you get past that it's a great series. my one problem is that sometimes the dialogue seems a bit lacking, or maybe it's just how it was translated

This anime deserves to be one of the big names like bleach and naruto. It starts off as a gag anime but around episode 20 the action begins to start, the characters are really unique and different from your usual group of protagonists its decent and the animation improves over time but not that noticeable. The arcs get better and better and if you finished the anime and looking for more you can read the manga from chapter 283.

At first I wasn't sure whether I would begin to like this anime, because it started slow and somewhat boring with typical jokes and a timid scaredy-cat as the main character.
But after the basic episodes and character introduction, skipping the fillers, from episode 19 on I found Reborn really cool.
To some points the story seems to be average, typically Shounen, but then there are some crazy ideas and characters making it all up and make Reborn really worth watching.

The animations are good, but nothing special such as the drawing style which could be better sometimes.
What I like most about Reborn is that the whole plot and characters aren't death serious, there is always a place for self-humour - and that's what I think of as a great pro. It's just likable if the author makes fun of his own characters and ideas sometimes.
The whole theme with the baby home tutor shouldn't scare you, just give it a try and you'll find even them somewhat cute and funny, though Reborn is sometimes a little too smart and powerful - in my opinion.
Nevertheless I really recommend watching Hitman Reborn because it is different from usual Shounen Anime and Manga. There are some great ideas, action, a lot of fun, a broad variety of different characters reaching from stereotypes to total freaks. Don't let the first episodes scare you because it really gets entertaining.
It might not be the type of Anime that captivates you from the beginning, but if you take your time you will begin to like it. ( show less)
