Kara no Kyoukai - Garden of Sinners is an interesting series basically summed up to be a bit like ghost in a shell meets supernatural as it questions 'what is real' and 'why things are the way they are'.
Being 6 movies which last around an hour, it takes the time to unfold the storys which each episode brings. One of the strong features this anime brings is the high quality animation and illustration of characters in both action scenes and still. There is a nice amount of attention to detail and thought placed into it the scenes of this anime, making it easier to believe and engrossing yourself into the story line.
The music is also great, I was hooked in once the intro music on the first episode started as it sounds so peacful and innocent while visually watching parts of a scene unfold pulling on some stronger emotions. The variations of this theme song through out the series is quite clever too.
For someone who has watched a lot of anime you may find that the story can be quite average varing from episodes and will like some more then others. I believe it would be fair for me to describe each as there own movie since the stories are only loosly tied together and can probably be watched in any order. But in watching I couldn't help but notice underlaying messages as if to question life and the way the world works, so from that point of view it is a movie that can leave you thinking long after the movies ended.
Finishing up, Kara no Kyoukai - Garden of Sinners is an anime worth watching as everyone will get something from it. Especially if your a fan of good visuals or a contemplative/philosophical story line. But in saying that, it may put off some who prefer a series to build to a big finarly climax and tie all the episodes together in a neat little package. (
