After the death of Saizou, Kabamaru's horribly strict grandfather and Iga ninja teacher (sensei), an old lady, Ran Akoko, claims that she received a letter from him asking her to take care of his grandson. So Kabamaru runs off with Lady Akoko to the big city Tokyo to gorge on yakisoba, ramen, chow mein, and attend a regular school—which turns out to have weird quirks of its own. |

I am, and thousands of other people I met in my life, a big fan of this series. I might be a little biased since I come from a generation that grew up watching this but the truth is that the story, the characters and the soundtrack are still some of the best in the genre. This series has a really high mark, although it’s old and practically forgotten by the anime industry
