Despite Makino's stubborn personality, she winds up falling for a member of F4 and over the course of time develops new feelings and a better understanding of the actions of others. |

I've gotta say I was really skeptical at first given the age of this anime. However within two episodes I was hooked. This is probably the best romance/drama anime I have seen in years! Just watch a few episodes and you will be hooked as well. GREAT ANIME!!!!

I was at first turned off by the animation so typical of the nineties style artworks seen in manga but i must admit in spite of it all the storyline has me hooked and it's difficult to shake even after watching one episode. Sure the animation hurts the eyes but sometimes it is better to look beyond that.

First, a word to the wise: immediately set it to Japanese with English subs. The dub voices are awful on the Dual Audio files.
Now then: this is one of the most adorable stories I've seen in a while. Once you get past the almost comical 90's animation (hard to believe we used to dress like that) Hana Yori Dango proves to be an outstanding anime.
It's a very classic story, and I have no doubt that it's been inspiration for a lot of more modern teen romance movies, etc. There's a nice element of comedy, though the soundtrack in particular ( read more)

It's a very classic story, and I have no doubt that it's been inspiration for a lot of more modern teen romance movies, etc. There's a nice element of comedy, though the soundtrack in particular can get a little overly dramatic. It starts out in the guise of a high school soap opera, but becomes so much more than that. This is a story of reconciliation and new beginnings. Hope you all enjoy!
As per another user's recommendation, I plan to read the manga now. Just based on this sweet story, I'm betting it's a fantastic read. ( show less)

HYD is my all time favorite manga, i re-read it several times and loved it!! the anime honestly doesn't do the manga justice, it follows the manga story line a fair bit but does change it slightly with minor details and has a completely different ending.. Those who watch this I highly recommend reading the manga, its very long but worth the read.. Also there is a Japanese, Korean & Taiwanese live TV series also you can watch :D
The anime graphics music isn't the best either its kind of old school and the characters voices could be better.. Other ( read more)
