Summary: Riding the bus one day, Sakurakouji Sakura looks out the window to see people being burned alive with a blue fire and a boy her age who's unharmed and standing over the people.

She comes back to the site the next day and there are no corpses or evidence of any kind of murder, just a small fire. She then goes to class to find there's a new transfer student, Oogami Rei, who looks exactly like the boy she saw before and wears a black glove only on his left hand.

Oogami is a Code Breaker, one who "does not exist". He is a seemingly cold-blooded killer who follows the principle of "an eye for an eye", to "use evil against evil". Convinced that killing is not right, Sakurakouji sets out to stop him and penetrate his icy heart.

I had high hopes for this series when it was first promoted. I looked forward to it and I enjoyed the first episode very much. I wanted to know more about this random guy that starts burning things in mysterious blue fires. I thought Sakura was going to be a cool female lead however things went down the drain. Not only did the anime decide to write its own ending different from the manga, it wrote a pretty bad ending. Things got really predictable for me. It seemed to blatantly obvious at this point that the villain of the story was an anti-hero (read more)

I've just watched the first three episodes in a row and I'm addicted. It's shiny, sexy, fast and furious. The story is not particularly original, but it's a good enough excuse for flashy violence and emotional angst.
The characters are beautiful and quirky, the light relief is amusing and well drawn.

I'm gonna enjoy this one.

The manga is just as bad as the anime. Basically, a somewhat original plot poorly executed. I've read about 30 chapters of the manga before dropping it because it's so awful, yet, I'm pissed the creators couldn't do better. When you read a fairly large amount of manga and/or watch a large amount of anime, you quickly notice these overly used cliche character personalities and elements within the stories, it then becomes a chore just trying to continue watching or read.

code breaker caught my attention in the beginning but the excitement died out too quickly. I found that the leading characters weren't portrayed strong enough to be able to connect to them. i wasnt following the anime too closely after episode 6, but Im still up to date with it. Its something i watch when im trying to distract myself. I really like the animation though, it represents the manga pretty closely.

It was good I. The beginning and then I started to lose interest maybe it wasboth the lead female and male charecter that got me though what kept me going were the side charecter I found more interesting. Something to watch when their nothing going.

I have been following the manga and have been waiting for the anime to air. FINALLY!
The anime story follows the manga faithfully. I read some reviews saying there is nothing about code breaking and they are right. It's not that they crack safes or anything. The "Code" refers to CODE NAME: Breaker.

Anyway, the anime is awesome! Period!

After watching the last episode i feel really disappointed at the way the story took shape and at the way that i feel no connection to any character whatsoever, no background stories no surprises just a girl who bumps her "don't kill" ideal on a supposed to be non-emotional killer machine (who changes his way of thinking in a matter of a few events that got no impact at all...) and after the last episode the first thing that came to my mind is "that's it...?"

I hear this anime didn't follow the manga, so i guess this one is out of the many animes (read more)

This is another anime when I read the fall anime list I circle thinking it sounded great. The idea and what they could have done with it seemed really interesting. Of course that was where it shined cause even though it does have some good animations overall it isn't more than an average anime.

Story wise felt like it needed to be developed more let alone finished in better fashion than they did. You have ideally to me a good concept for a main character who is high school kid who is close to heartless when it comes to judging evil, love that. (read more)

Why you shouldn't watch Code:breaker:-
1- They are called Code:breakers while in anime there is nothing about code breaking.. they just named it cuz they though its cool
2- You understand that everyone have a special ability then u find them do wierd skills, eg: The light user can create illusions that have the same skills as him !! .. sound wave user can fly !! .. shadow user can make shadow shield !! ..etc
3- The villain was originally a good guy protecting people , then he became the bad guy killing people for no good reason !!
... If you (read more)
