Summary: * Based on a light novel series by Hirasaka Yomi with illustrations by Buriki.

Hasegawa Kodaka, a half-Japanese/half-British boy, has recently transferred to a Catholic High School, St. Chronica's Academy, and as always, finds it impossible to make friends there due to his naturally blond hair, inherited from his dead English mother, which makes him look like a dangerous delinquent to his prejudiced peers. One day after school, he enters the classroom witnessing the equally solitary and very abrasive girl Mikazuki Yozora while she speaks to her Imaginary Friend Tomo. They decide that the best way to improve their social situation is to form a club - the Rinjinbu (Neighbour's Club) - just to make friends and learn social skills.

Five other members soon join, starting with the school's well-connected and arrogant idol Kashiwazaki Sena, who has many male admirers but no female friends due to jealousy. Kusunoki Yukimura, a girl pretending to be a boy, who idealises and follows Kodaka in the hope that it will teach her to become manlier. Kobato, Kodaka's younger sister who is attending St. Chronica's middle school division and has a penchant for darkness, vampires and the macabre ever since she started watching an anime called Full Metal Necromancer. Shiguma Rika, a perverted underclassman and well-known scientific genius, who speaks in the third person and was saved by Kodaka during a failed experiment, thereafter trying to repay him with sex. And finally Takayama Maria, a precocious 10-year-old teacher and nun at the academy, who becomes the club adviser.

The Premis around this story is really quite wonderful.

The story is along a common theam yet brought in a new direction. Its about a misunderstood Blond haired guy {do to his family orgins its natural}. Thinking hes absolutly dangerous everyone shuns him, as he strugles to make friends he comes acost people who also want to make friends. I find every character Unique and this whole story actually quite fresh. The Idea a blond haired guy can be as nice and as calm as everyone else is quite unique to anime and is a general shift in positive thinking. I also find that everyone in this anime is both unique and well rounded... being just a pleasure to watch.

Dialogue well it stands out. Its both fantastic and original.. the odd twists and turns the story takes are acted well by the actors and the intelegence and strength of each character shines through. The Utter uniqueness of every character is augmented by the fine voice cast and wonderful lines.

Animation is quite dazzleing. They have found a way in this anime to show almost pastel sceans without doing freeze frame... its hard to explain but that is beautiful and extra ordinary. I find most backgrounds are intrecitaly detailed and the characters are well rounded and drawn suitly to scale.. Honestly feels like a big budget Pixar movie at times.

The Entertainment is staggering. Its a tale with a premise that is serious.. gaining friends. Yet through this they find a way to be a wonderful comedy... and honestly it pays off. I find any more I wait for this series above just about anyone curious to what continued corse the show will go. Its a brilliant slice of life with good comedy and twists and turns that will keep you going and intersted through it all. It even throughs in action on a few with kinda theatrical video game playing elements which are funny and quite original I thought.

If you love good fun comedy mixed with slice of life.. this is a must see.
