Adapted from the 2005 adults-only superhuman battle action visual novel game Ayakashi. Ayakashi is a parasite life force that gives superpowers to its host, taking in return the host's entire life force. Kusaka Yuu is a student that lost his will to live after the death of a dear childhood friend, until the day a mysterious girl, named Yoake Eimu, appears. From that moment on, his life would never be the same again. Hunted by Ayakashi and their hosts, the power within Yuu awakens and a never ending battle begins. |

As an adaptation of a superhuman battle action visual novel game(try saying that five times fast :p) I was expecting this anime to be somewhat formulaic, and to some extent it is(after all, those things comes with the genre), but they manage to have enough variation to keep it from being boring or repetitive. The animation is great, the show is fast paced but still manages to balance both action and emotional scenes. After all, they are literally fighting their inner demons as they try to corrupt their minds from the inside out. Since the anime ( read more)

The animation is great, the show is fast paced but still manages to balance both action and emotional scenes. After all, they are literally fighting their inner demons as they try to corrupt their minds from the inside out. Since the anime is based on a visual novel game the story is much more expansive than most game anime adaptations, but I still think that core concept of an inner struggle could have been explored better if they had had a full 26 episode season. The supporting cast also sort of suffers from this, not being fully fleshed out, but for what it is, it still is pretty good. The last half of the final episode also felt a tiny bit rushed, but all in all it was an exciting and entertaining show. ( show less)

This anime's characters design and animation is good, story isn't bad. However, I must said that the dialogue is poor one.
Because of the flow of story is not smooty connect, some part can make you confuse easily. And the other part isn't describe about how it's going on. Some part is look like lack of reason. Sorry, I can't find any good word too explain.
For me, I feel waste my time to watch this one, after 4 chapter I keep press forward button to finishing this. Maybe if its have more chapter, this anime will better than this, I feel like ( read more)

Interesting story in a way as ayakashi users use their powers in front of normal public
resulting in deaths of many in a most gruesome manner.
The hero is forced to fight one ayakashi user after another and people around him get involved.
if you like blood violence watch it.
other can skip it.
