This movie I believed to be awesome, but that wont be the case unless you are a fan of the series. If you are trying to get into YGO this will not do it for you. If you watch it on a whim, chances are you wont enjoy it. This movie was produced for fans of the series, who are ecstatic to see the main characters unite against a powerful opponent. The story doesn't drag out, because if you are watching this movie, chances are you know the background of each character. The characters don't get to bond as much as one may hope, but realistically the characters have a certain amount of time to beat the foe of the movie. The story is not very detailed in the matter of why Paradox is doing what he does, but it is explained in the 5ds series, which connect to this movie so there is no real reason to waste time and budget. Plus like I said if you are watching this, chances are you have seen the series already, so you should not be left in the dark. This movie gives you an understanding of the plot quickly and perfectly. It's animation is top notch and really caters to the fans by giving a sense of nostalgia. The duel was interesting and both sides shared equal blows, not making it seem boring or one sided., but an actual battle. I enjoyed it and you will too if you are a fan if you are not it is easy to be disappointed. watching this with out being a fan if the equivalent of watching an Ova of a series but not watching the series itself, that would leave unexplained gaps to the viewer and turn to resentment of what you are watching. If you are expecting a deep story or just not a fan then don't torture yourself by watching, you watch this only as a true fan of the series looking to see old faces, beloved strategies and best of all Yu-Gi-Oh, .
