Due to family troubles, Ren Uesugi and his sister, Mihato, leave their home. They end up moving to the city but find themselves with a lack of money. Somehow they are able to find work in the form of the Kuonji family's mansion, being employed as servants to the three sisters of the Kuonji family: Shinra, Miyu, and Yume. Being a servant also associates Ren with the mansion's additional servants and the Kuonji sisters' friends.
A wonderful and charming story with awesome depth and a way of dragging you into it without feeling too deep or to difficult.
When I watched this one I enjoyed every episode and found both the balance and the pace of the anime to be absolutely perfect. Each characters has a backstory to an extent but it doesn't take a whole lot of time nor goes into intense drama about them despite some of them having very hard lives in the past. It makes the overall anime have depth but also continue its comedic feel.
The Dialogue is strong with good actors that have tons of series under their experience and also a good feeling for their characters. Each character is unique in the sense that the anime doesn't have a general feel to similarity- If a characters is like others its because the personality is meant to blend while the main characters are very differing even from other anime. Its excellent.
The Animation did have several issues. For a 2008 its backgrounds can be sluggish and although the feel of the anime is overall heartwarming the backgrounds should not be pastel. In some scenes they were phoning it in I felt. However this doesn't diminish the fact that each character is very different and often very beautiful while having things that show the signs of life... scars and extra that you would expect from real life people.
The Value of Entertainment is strong as it is a comedic series with a few good laughs but a stronger heartwarming series that just made me feel good watching it. There are few series or movies that can just make you sigh from the happy feeling and this is one of those. If their is a complaint its that they only have 13 episodes and honestly I don't feel as if their is going to be another season sense it was wrapped up in the basic flash by end scenes.. however its still a must see for comedy and heart warm :)
