Summary: |
Hunted by the Mings from China, young Kotaro and his dog meet a nameless samurai ("Nanashi") who is constantly being haunted by dreams of the past which lead him to seal his sword. Among the Mings is a fiercesome Western fighter named Rarou, who desires only to find a worthy opponent. When both groups clash with a Sengoku-era feudal lord, a proud general, and monks torn between faith and survival, the reason behind the Mings' pursuit tests the bond between Kotaro and Nanashi. |

This movie is a extraordinary anime with a beautiful plot of finding a place to belong. Not to mention and beautiful soundtrack as well.
The dialogue has an authentic feel to it. Its use of Chinese in crucial moments emphasizes the two different nationality shown in the movie and as I said earlier makes it feel more authentic.
The fighting scenes are well animated (it even starts off with one) easy to follow and very realistic (for an anime).
It also has moments of character development where we as an audience get to know more about the characters' histories. It shows their struggles to find a place to call home and it draws them closer together in beautiful moments of bonding.
This is an action filled anime and also a historical one (though no knowledge of this time period is required). I recommend it to any looking for something with good fight scenes. Its a great movie worth watching
