This is an awesome anime. However, when something awesome and good there's always a downside to it. The anime adaption of the light novel is, well, dodgy (i have read the light novels). For the SAO story arc, the light novel series has the actual battle with completing the levels in one volume and the side stories in another, so basically I think the script writers or whoever organises the order of the anime could have done a better job at integrating the side stories into the main story. The main story is always interrupted by the side stories and having the story being done half a season made seem too quick for me (for both story arcs). It just felt like one of those 12/13 episode animes.
Also another problem is content. I definitely noticed there missing content around episode 20. I can't really go into detail about it but here is the summary of the content the animators cut out: Kirito and Lyfa in an underground dungeon, find 2 neutral monsters fighting each other (of course this shouldn't be happening), decide to help the weaker one, monster evolves and is able to fly, Kirito and Lyfa learn about the holiest weapon in the game. The other disappointment i had was the fights were just too quick and not in depth enough. All you see is Kirito spamming his swords or quick strike his opponents and he wins.
Well on the brighter side, the animation and storyline was unique and excellent.
All in all, i believe this anime would be worth downloading and rewatching from time to time. Even with its drawbacks such as missing content and so on.
I know this breaking the guidelines given. But I want to criticise Ginjoo's review (it's misleading)http://www.anime-access.com/anime/S/Sword_Art_Online_(TV)/reviews/average. You need to watch that episode again about the resurrection item. It had to be someone who had been "killed" recently, very recently. As in before they disappear, which triggers the destruction of the brain, you revive the avatar of that person. (well that is what i think happens)
