I have only just watch the first ep. This is definitely one of its kind, thrilling with excitement of how its going to be next. Similar anime to this plot (i think) would be .Hack series; absolutely slow paced and deadening.
My synopsis for the story :
Sword Art Online, is a Virtual reality MMORPG (aka VRMMORPG) in distant future 2022 where players uses Nerve Gear (a VR Helmet) to control their in-game characters with their minds. Creator of the game, Akihiko Kayaba, prevents players from logging out and issues them a challenge. Players will notice that the logout button is missing from the main menu but is not a defect in the the game but a feature. And no one from outside can remove Nerve Gear. Should this be attempted the transmitter inside the NerveGear will emit a powerful microwave, destroying the player's brain and thus ending their lives. If they wished to be free and log out the of the game, they must reach the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, should their in-game characters die in the game, so will their bodies in the real world.
Leading protaganist, Kirito, a skilled player who tested the beta version of the game, is determined to reach the 100th floor and be free. Along with Asuna, his later found partner and love interest, and their friends, Kirito and his allies will face many obstacles and discovers the true purpose of SAO. The story explores the mishaps and adventures of the greatest one handed swordsman of the VR world, Kirito. Together with his friends, the solo swordsman strives to finish the game, which in turn will release all the minds trapped into Aincrad. :3Joy!
