During a fiercely hot summer in Sotoba, a peaceful and quiet village with a population of 1300 people, a series of bizarre deaths begin to occur. At the same time, a strange family moves into a long abandoned mansion in the region. Hospital dean Toshio Ozaki cannot figure out the cause of death in the deceased, initially suspecting an epidemic. As investigations continue between the hospital staff and the residents, it turns out that the village is being attacked by vampires.

Shiki is one of the best shows I have seen in a long while. More that a vampire horror story, you have a story that deals with human nature. It's a psychological thriller that will have the hairs on your arms stand on end, you will be yelling at the screen for people not to open doors and you will literally tingle with joy when any plan succeeds and your heart will break when any plan fails.
This story is intelligent, it is thoughtful, in some ways very very disturbing and in some ways so very utterly depressing.
This show will bring about every emotion you are capable of, dread every passing moment and yet not be satisfied until you know what happens next. And unless you are completely emotionless, there are scenes that may well indeed make you cry.
An epic tale.
beautiful art.
beautiful music.
A must
