Summary:
In the bloody Warring States period of feudal Japan, many generals fought in an endless struggle for power, but one man proved to be too big a threat - The dark lord Oda Nobunaga. Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune, two young warriors from different regions who become heated rivals, begin to form an unlikely alliance with the rest of the generals to take down the Devil King.
You like history, yeah? You like insanely skilled war lords duking it out spectaculary? You like good music with your anime, characters that will remain with you even after finishing watching it? Well, if yes, you are missing on a cult series if you haven't watched this yet.
The first episode might baffle you after seeing how explosions on nuclear level occur during a simple sword duel. You might find the characters too boisterous, showy, arrogant, etc. But you'll be positively surprised at how much you'll like the premise and the characters in the end.
I consider the voice acting of Yukimura's and Masamune's seiyuus exeptional among all the anime I've watched. The music is epic. The animation quality is good and the pace of the story is fast. It makes you want to go buy the game and play it till you drop dead.
Watch its sequel and the movie, too. You won't be disappointed.
