Summary: The story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, a brother and sister whose reputations as brilliant NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) hikikomori (shut-in) gamers have spawned urban legends all over the Internet. These two gamers even consider the real world as just another "crappy game." One day, they are summoned by a boy named "God" to an alternate world. There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where "everything is decided by games"—even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. Will Sora and Shiro, the good-for-nothing brother and sister, become the "Saviors of Humanity" on this alternate world? "Well, let's start playing."

The very first episode itself has captured my mind. I have wondered about its titled and gave doubt on how an anime would probably be interesting where its about - No Game, No Life? Boy, am I glad that I was wrong! One best thing about this anime are its protagonists, both siblings are geniuses. So if you are a big fan of thrilling anime that gets you excited and kicking right from the start of the series instead of a slow built-up story development, this is certainly the anime for you.

Not to mention, this series is one that has a good sense of comedic element that's not too excessive suitable for its art and fantasy-like setting without affecting the reality side of story. You might wonder what I'm trying to say. If you have watched "Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?", its setting is quite similar to this where protagonists from reality world are brought to the alternate fantasy world and where conflicts are resolved by playing games. However, my impression of Mondaiji is more like fantasy in a whole as it doesn't have any sense of reality to it at all. Their kids are not only geniuses and they have extraordinary so-called gifts?! To the extent one could wonder if they are even humans in the first place. Mondaiji series goes without saying, its very much ridiculous and nonsensical. In this respect, No Life, No Game is like a correction to it for it makes up a perfect blend of setting of persons from reality into this fantasy world.

In terms of story:
The setting itself is in a fantasy world where all conflicts are to resolved by playing games. The fantasy world is portrayed more in this series, unlike 'Mondaiji' that doesn't really show much about the world and countries.
Both the genius 'hikkikomori' siblings are game experts from the reality are suddenly thrown in to this alternate fantasy-world. This is where their story begins - whatever they do and say onwards are stays within comprehension except for certain exaggerated comedy acts but is still well acceptable and humorous. There are 16 different races and humans are the weakest having only a city left. What goes beyond I will not say. Perhaps to be a King of the country or expand its territories? Give it a try! It will only be a short 12 ep story :)
