Summary: This continues from what happened in the "Prince of Tennis ", after the end of the tournament . In "The New Prince of Tennis," Ryoma and the others (team members and teams they faced) begin a new adventure when they are the only 50 middle school students to be invited to the Japanese High School Representatives Selection Camp where only the top potentials in the Japanese tennis world train. * Based on a manga by Konomi Takeshi, serialised in Jump Square.

Middle school students fought fiercely against one another in a national tournament. Now, 50 chosen representatives return to fight against high schoolers! The stage is the U-17 (Under Seventeen) Japanese Representative Training Camp. Middle school students have been invited for the first time to a camp known to produce the best Japanese tennis players.

National champions from Seigaku, Hyotei, Rikkai, Shitenhoji...With all the rivals from the national tournament attending, everyone eagerly awaits their reunion. At first, the middle schoolers do not expect much from their high school opponents. However, the training camp is not so easy!

Athletes with skills incomparable to those they previously faced and their mysterious coach appear before them. Faced with numerous demanding challenges, can the middle schoolers survive in this meritocratic training camp? The new chapter of Prince of Tennis begins here! The curtain rises on a new stage.

PRINCE OF TENNIS IS BACK!

Did anyone else's heart stop momentarily when they saw there was a 'NEW' Prince of Tennis out!? And then died a second time when they saw they could immediately watch TWO episodes at once!?

I sure did! The excitement and adrenaline from purely understanding Prince of Tennis was INDEED BACK again caused i hope most of us to jump up and down screaming for joy. I myself cried and thumped the table several times.

I am proud to announce that nothing has changed. All our beloved characters are here once again and hopefully to stay for another couple of months where us avid fans all ride through the comedy, matches, tough times and the good ones together as well!

However, despiite in the past season where school life and family life were both present throughout the plot, this new season has a distinct and excruciatingly painful seriousness to it. It's tough to see a sudden change in opponents where they ARE now better, which forces our characters to suddenly grow more stonger under stress and an absence of family and school to eventually conquer this new arena.

But no fear! For we shall go through this time together and look forward to their triumph and FUN leading to a wonderful ending (hopefully :D).

I too love the unique team spirit found only in sport animes and especially in Prince of Tennis. It is one where there is no clear protagonist, everyone has a role in the story and all roles are extremely important. That is what makes this anime able to be watched over countless of times and with each repeat still enjoyable if not more so than the last.

For first timers in the Prince of Tennis series. I highly suggest you give it a try. The length is of no consequence, as once you start, you are so caught up in the matches you'd wish there was more episodes to watch - the feeling of us 'old' fans who have waited and waited so impatiently for this day, and for some as a COMPLETE surprise to find a new season out suddenly!!

The plot is nicely spaced out with each tennis match on average taking 2-3 episodes. There are very few fillers which also fit nicely into the story - you will enjoy them immensely! Everything is in chronological order and very, very easy to follow. You will understand everything that is going on. Animation is well suited for a sport anime, it is very nicely done. As for entertainment, there is a nice blend of comedy, tournament, slice of life sort of thing going on - it is not as adrenalinely pumping as your horror themed animes - of course - but certainly adrenaline pumping as a winning a competition type of thing. Dialogue is wonderful as you learn things ALOT about Tennis - and as i am not a Tennis player but a Badminton player i find it most interesting, easy to follow and for a time it got me into actually playing Tennis!

As a finishing note i've always loved the opening and ending themes, it is the old type of rock music where you may not be into it at first but it grows on you to the point of where you absolutely love it! This too goes for the opening and ending of the New Prince of Tennis. However one thing i am slightly confused about and find extremely amusing is that in the ending theme of this new season - there is a white silhouette of a person dancing in the background in tune to the music. It's fascinating to watch actually and it is growing on me, however i am still stumped as to what it means. Nevertheless, it does add on to the anime and i love it to bits!

I look forward to the next couple of months with you all!! Rock on PoT!!
