Natsume Yuujinchou is one of those anime that simply grows on you as you watch each episode. The main character reminds me of xxxHolic Watanuki, both had a hard time dealing with their gifts in seeing spirit but despite the hardship and isolation still manages to have a positive attitude towards life. Though it doesn't really follow a solid plot each episode if filled with heart-warming stories that makes you look on the brighter side of the spirit world. Each episode features a different spirit most of which are a part of Natsume's Book of Friends (whose original owner happens to be his grandmother Reiko) and each has its own story to tell. It's also fun to watch his love-hate relationship with the easy-going and gluttonous Nyako-sensei/Madara, though the reason why he willingly become his bodguard in order to secure his right to the book is a bit confusing since he obviously powerful enough to take it by force. Not only spirit but we also have some interesting human characters though they were not given much emphasis. This series may not have much action, complicated plots and bad-ass villains but it does have some great story telling filled with interesting characters that will lighten up your mood and make you feel better about yourself.
