Legend of of Legendary Heroes could have been a great anime series the problem is that it tried to fit to many scenarios into just 24 episode which results in a not so favorable ending! The fact that it has two story, one with Sion Astal dealing with the political side while the 2nd story revolves around his best friend Ryner's quest to recover Legendary Relic, already made it hard to create a solid plot due to the constant shift from one character to the next. Also due to the wide array of characters it's a shame we could get enough character development since most of them have quite an interesting backgrounds as well as personalities instead we only get bits and pieces of each of them. Aside from characters there are also some great concepts like "Rule Fragments", "Goddesses", "Mad Hero", "Lonely Demon" etc.. which were quite interesting but was given enough explanation making them more than just terms rather than an integral part of the story which they are. Despite these flaws i find the series enjoyable to watch and very interesting. The blend between Sions' story and Ryner's quest is just enough to balance the story providing both the serious and comedic tone making each episode entertaining. Sion's constant struggle to retain his throne while trying to keep his sanity in check & Ryner's crazy antics & lazy attitude to cover his uncontrollable powers and the way these two finally come to terms with their friendship at the end is well played. Again, this could have been a great series if it was given a few more episode instead of just 24!
