The second season was more satisfying than the first season. One being that it answers all questions in season one and two being that it concluded well. The pacing is better than season one but it's not really the best thing that was ever made. The Onikirikirimaru is properly sealed and Tamaki ends up progressing her relationship with Takuma. It was already pretty obvious in season one that other guardians would only act as support and they continue to act as supporting characters. Though it appeared at first that there was a betrayal in the group, it was pretty obvious that it was part of a plan. The plot is still predictable and is not exactly the most exciting thing. The fighting scenes aren't that interesting and they use mostly effects to make it flashy.
The villains are revealed to hold reasons for joining Logos and the true enemy was very apparent from the start. The true enemy becomes a boss fight and all guardians reveal their true form of their ancestors. Tamaki becomes a true Tamayori princess only because they managed to obtain the artifacts with the help of the enemy. They took a long time to build up to the end even though it was inevitable. The animation sequence for the transformations took way too long and there was a lot of unnecessary dialogue that takes up the episode time. My opinion of the second season is very similar to season one really. Very little development and a protagonist that didn't really help out very much.
