Summary:
The story follows masked wrestler Genzou Shibata, who likes all kinds of animals and creatures. One day he is summoned to another world, where a princess asks him to help kill magical beasts, but he gets mad and puts her in a German suplex. Instead, he begins life as a pet shop owner in the other world.
This review will probably show up with higher stars than it deserves. 2/5.
This review will have spoilers though I will try to put in such a way it wont spoil the show.
Okay so this anime has a lot good going for it. It has good animation, audio and VA's.
The fantasy setting and most of the characters are pretty interesting. Even the inclusion of wrestling into a fantasy world is pretty cool. It would come off as very strange techniques by the native people there.
Now the problem comes in with the main character. He is absolutely the worst character in this anime hands down.
from repeated use of the same comedy gag over and over and over to the fact that his personality changes drastically from the real world to the fantasy one. He is constantly a mess with financials which from earth he knew he had to work to earn money and save to fulfill his dream of opening a pet store. He has this almost uncomfortable affection towards animals that makes no sense when in the fantasy world they're monsters and people.
He keeps these monsters in cages! Although that's normal practice for a pet store but for an animal lover that can only be seen as horribly cruel. He doesn't even have a pet store he's literally just caging animals and looking at them borderline perversely.
Then there is his abilities. Now he's just a normal man but for some reason he can overpower the fantasy creatures. There are way too many holes in this story.
I didn't really enjoy this one though I did see it through for because of the other characters. Just go in knowing that you're going to be watching a show for the side characters and the fantasy setting.
A very Meh! show that can be skipped entirely.
