Guilty Crown is a definately an anime that is worth watching, at least to see if you like it. It has alot of elements that are familiar to other anime to it, but what anime nowadays does not have at least some things in it that remind you of other memorable parts that were in other shows.

That being said it has the pretty classic young hero that is unlikely and reluctant about gaining a new ability that is required by a rebel faction to save the world from an oppresive government story. However, it is not so simple the basic mold of that story type are reshaped and re-written into its own unique telling and the detailed elements are written so that the plot and dialouge do not feel as though you are watching a bad re-make of several other anime with the only difference being different characters, names and dialouge.

This is a Action Adventure type anime with Mecha, but is not HARDCORE mecha so that it is not necessary to be a serious Mecha fan to enjoy it. THe plot is stable and clean. It is understandable and does not try so hard to be epic and so unique that it ends up being a confusing set of scenes that after many episodes you still do not know who anyone is or what the point of anything really is. THe characters become familiar quickly and they do tend to fit into stereotypical roles yet they are very lively and become likable and you begin to feel the characters roles in a solid way fairly quickly and GC -IG Studio builds a good cast of believable characters that you like to see thier individual roles unfold. Simply put they are not boring and you can easily find elements to them that seperate them from characters in "other anime". THe story drives on at a good pace and has a flow to each episode that makes each episode an important part to the overall build up that is ever increasing and entertaining.

The really greatest elements of guilty crown are the main character designs. The artwork is of a very high quality and maintains almost movie quality animations, detail and framerates. The characters are drawn in a style that is unique with good use of line contrast to really bring a depth to the cast and the background illustrations are nice and varied. The costumes and gear the characters wear is intricate and very well thought out and drawn with ever vigilant emphasis on detail and proportion. THe animation is top notch and the visual effects are outstanding. From the first episode to finish it is a great visual story and a wonderful example of the amazing advancements that have come from modern anime production. Guilty Crown is definately one of this years to watch anime.

On another note. Those who rated this anime as very poor all had no real critique to explain the rating other than it is not naruto or it stole everything from Naruto, which is highly funny because it has very little similarity with Naruto at all. That seems to be why it got any negative ratings. If all you want to watch is naruto. Do so but do not rate a good anime poor because you are too biased. Just because a show isn't naruto does not make it bad.

Guilty Crown is a wonderful visual and auditory experience and will leave you wanting to watch the next episode right away. GC is a good watch.
