In all its insanity (that no one can actually tell what the plot is about lol), I love Gin tama with all my heart. In one episode it can make me laugh like crazy, teach me a lesson or two, piss me off, make me smile, and make me laugh like crazy again. The way they make fun of stuff like those popularity polls and long plot introductions before they get down to the actual episode is spot on. The characters are varied and original. Where else can you find an anime with characters ranging from an ex-samurai to the police to an idol to a weather girl to a jobless guy to a landlady to a giant dog to a giant duck to... okay, this won't end>_< are they filler characters? I don't think so. Each one of them is important and has left a mark on the show (yes, giant animals included). Some arcs can nag you about life in the funniest of ways. Some arcs can wow you with action-packed scenes. What Gin tama is not, it's not a perfect show and it's not pretending to be one. (They even point out their own flaws U_U) It's not an anime that would make you work your brain cells either. Your job is to sit back and enjoy the ride. Might as well thank the mangaka and the staff in the process. Gin tama is relaxed, stress-free and it is pure <3
