Summary: Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is about a two brothers that lost their mother due to the taboo known as Human Transmutation. Edward and Alphonse are in a search to find the Philosopher's Stone, a stone that can ignore the rules of alchemy's equivalent exchange, to obtain their former bodies. They'll encounter many foes along the way that hinder their progress to finding the the secret of the Philosopher's Stone and the secret beneath Central.

Story:

The story was absolutely perfect. There was no point in the anime when I would say to myself, " Why did he do that..." or "WOW. JUST DO THIS AND THAT." I was always trying to anticipate what would happen but it never turned out how I wanted it to happen. The story is full of surprises and if you've seen the original Fullmetal Alchemist, you'll learn that there aren't that many fillers and it gets right into the heart of the action. It brings about some things from the original anime which in some cases confused me but you'll eventually learn about everything that happens.

Dialogue:

Everyone's voices was truly well done. I especially loved the voice of Miki, Shinichiro (Roy Mustang). It was much better voiced than the original Fullmetal Alchemist. Edward and Alphonse don't sound like complete adolescents. You know everything that is going on. If I were to blind fold you and told you to listen to the dialogue by itself, you'd know everything that happens.

Animation:

The animation was superb. Whether it was the way the alchemy was shot off at opponents or just simple scenery, FMA Brotherhood pulls off such an amazing display of artistic ability.

Entertainment:

I can't even begin to describe how fun it was to watch this. I'm a High Schooler and even on days when I had to wake up at 5:30, I'd stay up late watching this because each episode ended in such a hook. I had to force myself to sleep or else I would be a zombie in the morning. Each episode got right into the heart of the action; not wasting a single dialogue or action. I have to be honest and say that when it ended, I found myself just wondering what to do next. The next big thing like FMA Brotherhood wasn't going just show up in front of me. I guess it's time to just watch Eureka 7 or Hajime no Ippo ):

Overall:

I highly recommend this to people in desperate need of an anime or for people who need a kick start. I think the only other anime that I've felt this hyped is either Death Note or TT Gurren Lagann. Now I have this embarassing habit of clapping my hands together whenever I'm about to do something, haha. Please watch this and share in this wonderful delight!!
