Summary:
The setting of Eureka Seven takes place 10,000 years after humanity has made a mass exodus into space, due to the arrival of the Scub Coral, an intelligent, sentient life who merged with the planet, forcing the humans to abandon it. In the current timeline, the remnants of humanity are now settled on an unknown planet (actually a terraformed Earth) known as the Land of Kanan, but the majority of the surface of this planet is now covered by a rock-like surface formed by the Scub Coral.
this series was very well written and ingeniously developed. at first glance it seems like all other cliche mech-animes but in terms of artistic presentation in the story, this series takes it away. though the story is admittedly slow to develop at some points and action sequences are scarce during certain chunks of the anime it bursts forth with emotion and crazy creativity that leaves huge opportunity for interpretation. a good blend of serious action, overly-depressing monologues, mind-blowing revelations, and awkward humor that leaves you properly amused. the cliff-hanger endings are definitely among the most captivating. this is by far my favorite anime series. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
