I enjoyed this anime. It's definitely for the female audience: there's lots of romance, the heroine is very feminine, every guy is a bishounen. The characters actually make me hesitate to call it an excellent romance anime: Lydia is annoying at times, very conservative, always ready to doubt, and constantly referring to herself as a 'fairy doctor', which I think is an overused term. Edgar meanwhile though he later professes to love Lydia at one point appears to try to kill her, and really, if someone has ever plotted to kill you, could you really be with them? Some of the magic can be funny: I like the selkie best.
So, if you go into it not being too critical and accept the plot twists and characterizations as they are, it's a good anime to watch.
