Summary:
Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.
The current story arc that just began in the manga is also said to be the last story arc of the manga period, and it would be mighty stupid(to put it mildly) to end the show before the final story arc. I think the most likely scenario is they go on temporary hiatus and let the manga finish and then relaunch it shippuden style, that way the fans dont have to suffer through more fillers which I am sure we are all very sick off, even the studio people must realize that by now. To stay on topic: The fullbring arc was very intresting and a nice change of pace :) It gave much needed variety to the shows villains and powers. Not sure if I like Chad and Inoues powers being retconned(cause that is basically what happened) as fullbrings. And speaking of the manga the next villains that are coming up are also looking very distinct and intresting :)
