While a lot of people went into watching this movie expecting something based out of the second season, they were disappointed because it was a bridge. It connected the gaps between a lot of the story arcs and created new ones to be answered later as the series progressed. It would be better to go into the movie with the mentality of the first season, instead of looking at when it was released and when it should fit into the time line.
