While this season explains a lot more about the world(s) and the characters of the story, the plot still progresses in a non-linear fashion and I get the feeling that to fully understand this series you need to have read the light novel it is based on(for those of you who dont know, a light novel is slightly shorter than a regular novel , with a few manga-like illustrations and covers). The restricted plot exposition was present in this season as well, but when dealing with some characters, that became a bit confusing as the story got more complex. Most of the themes of the previous season are followed upon and expanded, although the main villain of the last season was cast aside for someone else who you might not expect. We finally get an answer to the mysterious absence of the main characters older brother. And while I could sort of predict it, it was still nice to get some closure on that part. With a lot of fast paced action, light hearted fan service and some great animation. I´m curious to look for some other shows this studio has done since I think it´s kind of a shame to waste their talents on these flat character designs. Oh well, its a perfectly fine follow up to the first season, so if you liked that, you will definitely enjoy this one :)
