Summary:
Mudou Setsuna, a high school student, loves his sister in a way that he shouldn't. He also struggles from supernatural powers. Angels and demons flocks to him as the day of his awakening draws near -- he is the angel Alexiel, the highest angel which fought against God, reborn.
Not too fond of the cliche art style, but the story was quite okay. Really emotionally intense, which can be hard to pull off for some witout going into the comically extreme or absurd. Too many delicious religious references to count(seriously I did lose count) and a simple story of love and devotion at its core makes Angel Sanctuary a casually entertaining story that doesnt take too much commitment. The action scenes felt a bit stiff at times, but I guess they served their purpose. Also some of the relationships between the angelic/satanic characters confused me. It could also have had a more satisfying finale if they just added maybe 5-6 episodes. I´ve heard the manga is more conclusive, so maybe I´ll check that out. As for the love being incest, as long as it isn´t abuse(which we are clearly shown it´s not) then who are we to judge them and how they feel? I even think I noticed a small explanation hinted at(very subtly) from some of the angelic/satanic characters.
PS:Now please refrain from having moral seizures all over the review section just because I expressed an unusual opinion, so there is place for something more relevant like well thought out reviews.
